All enrolments are booked on a term-by-term basis and cannot be transferred to another student. All clients are required to provide full or part of a payment of term fees before a permanent class position will be allocated. The scheduling of classes is reassessed at the start of each term. Previously enrolled students will have first preference at retaining their allocated spot.
Our lessons are billed at the beginning of each term with payment due within the first week of term. Mid-term enrolments are billed for the remaining weeks in the term. All invoices are sent via email and can be paid via direct deposit, cheque or cash. Payments cannot be refunded once a student has commenced their enrolment. Our second student discount only applies when more than one class is conducted in the same week. Students are not billed for classes that fall on a public holiday.
In order to maintain the highest quality of music lessons for all students, Sean’s School Of Music will make every effort to reschedule a lesson(s) when required. If 24 hours notice is given, the student is entitled to reschedule a make-up lesson. If you are unable to provide 24 hours notice due to illness or exceptional circumstances then a make-up may be rescheduled. If it is due to illness then a medical certificate will need to be provided. Make-up lessons are scheduled at a time that suits both the teacher and the student. If the student cannot make the rescheduled make-up lesson then no refund will be given. If the teacher cannot attend the make-up for whatever reason the make-up lesson will be rescheduled or credited to the next term. Make-up lessons do not roll over into the subsequent term. Where lessons are missed due to serious medical conditions, a credit toward lessons to be taken next term may be granted. A valid medical certificate must be provided. All such credits must be used in full during the next term and cannot be redeemed for cash. Where a long holiday is planned for the student and the teacher is informed, the payment of a term may be altered to accommodate the known absence.
If the lesson is cancelled due to a teacher absence the students will be notified by text, e-mail or phone. In this case, a makeup lesson will be arranged or credited toward the next term invoice, as negotiated between Sean’s School Of Music and the student/parent.
Sean’s Music Studio offers all new enrolments, who are interested in taking music classes, a trial lesson at half price. The trial lesson is a single, non-lock in music class and must be paid on the day of the lesson. If you decide to further pursue music classes, after the trial lesson, we will invoice you accordingly. This payment will be due in seven days of being invoiced. If, however, you decide against attending any classes then there will be no further charges for the rest of the term.
When a lesson is started late due to a student’s late arrival, the lesson will be completed on time and no make-up time will be offered. When a lesson is started late due to a teacher’s late arrival, the lesson will be completed on time and a make-up lesson for the time that was missed will be offered.
All students are required to bring their materials to every class. All materials required for lessons can be purchased through Sean's School Of Music and students will be invoiced accordingly. Any equipment use that is owned by Sean’s School Of Music must be treated with respect and any misconduct will mean the immediate cease of use. Any damage done to property of Sean’s School Of Music will be the responsibility of the student to cover the costs of repairing or replacing.
All students are required to have an appropriate instrument to practice at home on. All students are required to practice daily. Practice times vary depending on what is recommended by the teacher for the individual student. Where the student is encouraged to practice 15 minutes everyday, it does not mean the student can do one practice for an hour and a half and no practice any of the other days.
